Macey Estrella-Kadlec (born March 24, 1990, Georgia, United States) is an American professional wrestler who currently works for WWE under the ring name Lacey Evans. Evans trained and started her wrestling career on the independent circuit after being first introduced to the sport while serving as a military police officer in the Marines. In 2016, she began working for WWE in the NXT, where she also took part in the first Mae Young Classic.
After engaging in a conflict with Kairi Sane in NXT, Evans made her debut on Raw in 2019 and quickly got involved in a conflict with Becky Lynch that resulted in a mixed tag team battle as the main event of Extreme Rules. Lacey was born on March 24, 1990 in Georgia. Her father had entertained aspirations of becoming a wrestler but never followed through on them, overdosed on drugs.
Lacey Evans in WWE
Lacey Evans signed a WWE contract on April 12, 2016 and made her professional debut on October 20 in a house show. A tag team match against Billie Kay and Peyton Royce was lost by Evans and Sarah Bridges three months later, in Evans’ debut on NXT. She was primarily utilised as a jobber by several rivals. Evans competed in the first Mae Young Classic in July, winning the first round against Taynara Conti but losing to Toni Storm in the next.
Evans turned heel on the NXT episode on January 17, 2018, when she criticised William Regal for letting Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, and Kairi Sane to fight in the women’s division. Evans and Sane engaged in their first spat in April, during which time they traded victories and exchanged blows throughout the following few weeks.
Main Roster
On January 27, 2019, Lacey made her official main roster debut at the Royal Rumble. She started off at number 1 and went on to eliminate Billie Kay and Peyton Royce before being thrown over by Charlotte Flair after lasting for more than 29 minutes. After that, Evans frequently interrupted different segments and matches on Raw, SmackDown, and pay-per-views by going out on stage, waving to the audience, and departing.
Evans joined the Raw brand shortly after WrestleMania 35 as part of the 2019 WWE Superstar Shake-up, where she was given her first main-rotation feud while relentlessly attacking Becky Lynch, the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion. This resulted in a title fight for the Raw Women’s Championship between the two on May 19 at Money in the Bank, where Lynch defeated Evans by submission.
