Last night Marvel decided to shock their fans awake and dropped the long awaited Captain America: Civil War trailer. It happened while Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. (Captain America and Iron Man for those of you who aren’t aware) were being interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and decided to shock the audience by premiering the new and exclusive trailer.
It sent Twitter into meltdown, with “Civil War” rocketing to the top of the worldwide trends and having already clocked way over 6 million views in less than 24 hours.
Within the trailer many things are revealed, and many characters seemingly to be confirmed to be in the film. Furthermore, the different gangs of superheroes in ‘Team Cap’ and ‘Team Iron Man’ have been more or less confirmed, driving everyone nuts. Many “Stucky” shippers were in awe the moment the trailer opened up with Steve saying the words “Buck… do you remember me?” and Bucky looking up from the floor with saddened eyes (and for those of you who are too deep into the Marvel universe and shipping, it is truly heart wrenching).
Searching the YouTube comments and Twitter, it was evident fans had picked up on a fair few things, even those of the smallest detail, in the 2 minutes and 26 seconds of the trailer that managed to send everyone into a frenzy. Some of the big moments being that despite not being involved in the original concept art back in August, character Scarlet Witch is indeed back (sadly, not accompanied by her brother who died in Avengers: Age of Ultron… we still cry).

Shots of Black Panther were also shown in the trailer, the character looking down-right awesomely bad ass in their Marvel screen premiere.

Other fans will be psyched to hear that upon further detailed analysis, it appears there is a tiny glimpse of Ant Man’s helmet being carried at 1.23 seconds into the video, which has raised major speculation that he will be within the film. Many fans have also commented on the absence of Spider Man and Ultron, with many rumours being they will be within the film too. Some fans took a comedic view to the thought of Spider Man and Ant Man being on different teams and fighting each other in Civil War.

Others were shocked to see at 2.04 seconds into the trailer, it appears Tony is holding a dead War Machine with the chest of his suit completely torn out. The horror!

The majority of fans were just too darn emotional about the whole thing, mostly using gifs and reaction pictures to illustrate their current mood.

I love that the plot of Civil War is essentially just "Steve is pissed off because his metal friends don't get along better."
