Hunky Joshua Morrow is celebrating 25 years on The Young & The Restless as Nick Newman. He has been a mainstay on the daytime show since he first appeared playing the teenage son of legendary characters, Victor and Nikki Newman.
Ironically it was a failed audition for the role of Dylan on The Bold and The Beautiful, the sister show to Y&R, that led Morrow to the opportunity of a lifetime. He lost out to Dylan Neal for the B&B character but was soon brought in to audition for the role of Nick. The rest, as they say, is history.
The actor recently spoke with Soaps In Depth on spending a quarter of a century on the iconic CBS daytime show.

“It’s a 25-year con job! I’ve figured out how to fool them for a quarter of a century,” he joked.
Morrow went on to credit the pairing of Nick and Sharon in helping his longevity on the show. The chemistry he has with actress Sharon Case is off the charts.
Since the day Y&R put them together as teenagers, fans have been obsessed. Their star-crossed lovers storyline got fans hooked. They continue to root for Nick and Sharon, even when the writers have decided to split them up.
When he was a kid growing up playing football in Oklahoma, Morrow never dreamed he would become an actor, let alone be on a hit show for 25-years. It is a dream he didn’t even know he wanted come true that began when he was only 20-years-old.
Another person Morrow credits for his success on Y&R is his real-life wife, Tobe Keeney. The couple will celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary this year. Keeney has been with Morrow for most of his run on the show. He is continuously praising his wife in interviews, as well as their four children for supporting his work.
Life in Genoa City would not be the same without Joshua Morrow and Nick Newman. It is hard to believe it has been 25-years since The Young & The Restless fans were introduced to both of them.
Although he has been on the soap opera for over half his life, Morrow has no intention of going anywhere. His on-screen mom, Melody Thomas Scott, celebrated her 40th anniversary on the show a couple of months ago. It looks like Morrow is going to follow in her footsteps and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
