Orel made his major league debut with the Dodgers in 1983. During his time with the team, Hershiser was a three-time All-Star, placing in the top five in Cy Young voting four times in his first six full seasons.

Hershiser’s most successful season was in 1988 when he set a major league record by pitching 59 consecutive innings without allowing a run.
