A mans body has been discovered at Coogee Beach overnight

Shocked locals have discovered a mans body washed up on the shore of a popular Sydney beach. The body is believed to be that of 54-year-old man Marin Max Luburic who has been missing since he went for a swim at Maroubra beach on Saturday.

The body is believed to be that of 54-year-old man Marin “Max” Luburic who has been missing since he went for a swim at Maroubra beach on Saturday.

The Newtown man’s family reported him missing to police when he failed to return home.

Officers located his car parked on Marine Parade in Maroubra and conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate him.

Police issued an alert to the community on Sunday afternoon.

Urgent calls were made to police when the body washed up on the shore of Coogee Beach about 6.30pm on Wednesday.

While the identity of the body has not been officially confirmed, the man’s family are assisting police.

It brings the drowning death toll in NSW to four over the last weekend all of which were men aged in their 40s and 50s.
